This past weekend was one of the best, but busiest, weekends for me. Between Arizona Girl’s Night Out, my birthday, and Father’s Day, things were action-packed and loads of fun.
Kicking off the birthday celebration Friday night, I attended Arizona Girl’s Night Out with some of the best and brightest bloggers in our lovely little state. My good friend from Baked By Joanna was kind of enough to let me have copies of her pictures because I forgot my camera at home.
Back Row: Jessa from Sparkle Pants Girl, Laura from Pink Cake Plate, Sara from Mom Endeavors, Rebecca from Roots and Wings, Jamielyn from I {heart} Naptime
Front Row: Joanna from Baked by Joanna, Amy from Pink Bow Bath Boutique, Me
I know, what kind of photographer am I? Joanna also baked mini-cakes for each of us to have and they were amazingly yummy. She took the time to decorate each cake a little differently and all of those lovely decorations are made from fondant.
Kendra from My Insanity, Kristyn from Lil’ Luna, and Stephanie from Somewhat Simple put on a great party at Sweet Cakes Cafe’ in downtown Mesa and because this shin-dig was a Party theme, the special guests of honor were the ladies from The TomKat Studio and the lovely Laura Winslow, so you knew I had to be there. Each guest walked away with a gift box full of lovely swag goodies…
And we also got to get our craft on and make a set of cupcake toppers specially designed by The TomKat Studio!
My favorite part of the night had to be the photo booth that was set up. It gave us a chance to be silly, act crazy, or sneak a picture with “My Martha!”
The next morning as I was trying to recover from the shock of wearing ridiculously high heels for a night (my poor momma feet are so out of practice), I got to lounge around and hang out with my parents, my brother, and the kidlets for my birthday. We went to lunch and then myself and the kids took naps. When Keith got home, we headed out to dinner at my favorite, Joe’s Farm Grill. If you are local and you haven’t been there yet, you are seriously missing out. Go. Now.
After dinner, I made the husband take a few quick pictures. And guess what. I seriously forgot the camera. Again. I was apparently on some sort of strike with the camera this weekend. These pictures were taken with his phone, so I apologize for the quality. I’m just glad that I was able to get some sort of reminder of my 29th birthday. Yeesh, 29. I feel so old. Moving on…
We finished up our wild ride of a weekend on Father’s Day by visiting my parents in the morning and having the husband’s dad and sister over for dinner. Overall, it was an amazing weekend shared with so many people that I love and enjoy. It was tough yesterday getting back into our typical routine and back to daily life where I had to do things like cook. I’m already looking forward to next year!

I’m right there with you on the 29. My day is on July 5. Not sure how I feel about it. But I am happy you had a great weekend!!
You were a busy bee! I’m glad you were able to use some of the photos I took while we were there. The photobooth ones were the best – we all look so happy. I can’t wait to see the ones from Sierra Studios. I might just have to buy a few if she’s selling them.
Well, I am glad you had a wonderful birthday (Joe’s Farm Grill is so good!) and had a chill Father’s Day.
Rest up this week and I will see you this weekend for the photoshoot.
Happy 29th (every year from now on, right?)! So glad you got to come and party with us!
29 old? Are you kidding me? Wait till you hit 39. Really your 30′s are the absolute best.
Your birthday weekend seamed like so much fun. Love the picture of you with the kids…….and all the goodies you got to take home.
I am sure you will have as much fun next year!
Such fun! Glad you enjoyed your bday weekend! xo
It was fun having you there! Hope to see you at the next one! And where were the Lolly Jane twins? Why werent they there!?!??
