When I started browsing the Lifestyle Craft die-cuts and I happened upon this cupcake stand die, it was love at first party-planners sight. No joke. The entire purpose of the Favorite Things party {other than highlighting some serious party geniuses} was to have a forum to show off this gem.
The best part of this sweet little stand is that it’s super easy to create and the die-cuts can be used on just about any manual die-cut machine. Seriously awesome, right?
Materials needed:
Epic 6 * Cupcake Stand dies * cardstock
permanent glue * acrylic rhinestones
You’ll need to start by using the Epic 6 {or another manual die-cutting machine} to cut the pieces of the cupcake stand out. Lifestyle Crafts has a great section on their website dedicated to video tutorials that will help you out in a pinch the first few times using your machine and accessories.
When your pieces are all cut out, fold each piece on any preforated lines. You’ll end up gluing four of the base pieces together to form the sturdy base you’ll need to support the cupcakes. Don’t put any glue on the top tabs until you’ve gotten all of the bottom pieces glue together.
When you’re ready, place the plain circle on a solid surface, apply a generous amount of glue to the tabs on the base pieces, and press the base firmly to the plain circle. Allow this to dry adequately.
While the base is drying, begin gluing the jewels to the scallop circle, placing one in each scallop. By the time this is finished, your base should be dry and ready to move on. Now you’ll put glue on the top of the plain circle and carefully place the scallop circle directly on top.
Allow your fancy new cupcake stand to dry before testing out any cupcakes on it. Better safe than sorry, right?
I already have so many ideas for future cupcake stand: using patterned paper, creating an eyelet effect…the possibilities are endless!
