I was so incredibly excited for SNAP for a whole boat load of reasons, but being a teacher bu nature, the learning is what thrilled me the most. Each and every panel and class sounded amazing and although I was bummed that I didn’t have the ability to be in three places at once, each of the classes that I did have the chance to attend were awesome. Like, seriously.
I walked away from SNAP with 10+ solid pages of notes and more pages that were emailed to me for the classes that I wasn’t able to attend. I have so many ideas and plans based upon recommendations and thoughts shared by some of the best in the blog business that it might take me days to process it all and *be* the change that I’d like.
Ready to get learning and I’m set with all of my gear: notebook and pencil, cell phone, and iPod to tweet from since I’m one of the last people in the world without a smart phone.
Cheryl Najafi of CherylStyle was a great way to start off my learning. She had such an inspiring story about how she came to write her book and not let obstacles stop her in her tracks.
We all know how much I love a good party and the Party Planning on a Budget class was right up my alley. Sara from Confetti Sunshine, Michelle from MaddyCakes Muse, and Kendra from My Insanity were a wealth of knowledge that have inspired to get my party-planning rear in gear!
One of my most favorite classes that I attended was the one about how to get featured in the media. Between tv, newspaper, and all of the social media outlets available now, I have my work cut out for me!
Kristen Duke is a photography genius and I loved getting to listen to how she works through a photography session, invaluable knowledge in my line of work.
Blogging can be a game of trends and I made to sure to learn from the best in the business: Mandi from Vintage Revivals, Lara from Less Cake More Frosting, Jeanee from Dirty Laundry, and Jen from Tatertots and Jello.
Success isn’t something that typically happens solo; you need people around you to support and help you. I, of course, went to support my good friend Jamielyn from I {Heart} Naptime as she was one of the panelists and I learned much more about the contributor and guest post parts of blogging.
And while I’m thinking about it, does anyone want to guest post here? I’d love to start showing off some of your creativity too!
After my recent foray into woodworking, I’ve been researching power tools {cue the grunting a la Tim Allen from Home Improvement} and imagine my delight when I was able to attend a class dedicated to just that: knowledge and safety of power tools and painting. Love! Plus, I was super excited that I was able to sit by Shelley from House of Smith’s, the DIY Goddess herself!
Like I said earlier, I can’t wait to share with you the improvements and growth I have for Sweet Rose Studio. Tomorrow I’ll be back with another SNAP re-cap post!

I’m kicking myself that I didn’t just buy a ticket way back when it looks like you all had SO much fun! I”m glad I at least got to crash the market and meet you though. If you want to blog swap any time let me know I would love that.

I’d love to guest contribute, but I have no idea what I would contribute! How to wear makeup for pictures? I have no clue! lol
You crack me up Jill! I’m sending you an email now!
We went to all different classes so it was neat to see what you learned during the conference! Great pics!
This was such a great experience and I am sooooo glad I got to meet you!
Whatever! I was excited to sit next to YOU! Photographer extraordinaire! whoo hoo!
I totally swiped a pic of yours for my post today. (with total credit of course.)
How did I leave without a pic of the stage? Freak. It’s like I didn’t even have a brain while I was there. It’s all a blur. Thank you for being so supportive. And all your kind words. You have never been anything but super sweet to me. And I appreciate it…immensely!
Sounds amazing…so wish I would have gone!
xxoo
Loved meeting you (and sitting next to you in one class)! You are darling…wish I lived in AZ so I could get with all of you fun girls down there!!! I guess there’s always next year, right?!!
