Confession: I have a serious love affair with sprinkles going on.
What? You already knew that? I guess my Party Oreos or Party Cupcakes might have given it away.
I’m now on a mission to test sprinkles on as many forms of baked goods as possible. I’m asked on a regular basis the recipes for cakes or other yummy goodness that I create to take with me to parties and family gatherings, but I have a deep dark secret: I {99% of the time} use a box mix. Now, almost every single time I use those box mixes, I always try to add something or change it up a smidge so that it is something different and I rarely use the same ingredients twice.
Today’s recipe: Easy Fancy Brownies!
Ingredients:
brownie box mix + required ingredients listed on package
chocolate chips * sprinkles
How can you not love sprinkles? I feel like they are glitter for the baking crowd.
Once you have the brownie mix made according to the package direction, pour it into a greased 13″ x 9″ pan. Scatter the chocolate chips and sprinkles on top *before* you bake it. When you think you’ve added enough, add some more. Just trust me.
Bake the brownies according to the box directions, but this next part is key: bake it for the lowest recommended time on the box (mine was for 24 minutes). This will ensure that you have moist, fudge-y brownies and that they won’t seem like they came from a box mix.
Today’s recipe isn’t anything ground breaking or fabulously wonderful, but I felt it deserved sharing. Sometimes I need the simplest ideas to serve as inspiration for something truly unique; maybe this recipe will be that for you!
