Luke’s rocket room is going to be awesome. Like, seriously. The trick is that I actually need to get it done. This has been one crazy long process!
I thought I’d take this chance to pop in with a little update and show you what progress has been made so far. Are your ready for the details *plus* a fun freebie?
The Washi Tape Rocket Art I put together for Luke was a great spring board for the colors I wanted to use in the rest of his room. After taking apart the wreath from his birthday party, I used the banner across one of the shelves. Perfect recycling, right?
And now for something I’m really excited for! I’ve heard the phrase “I’ll love you to the moon and back” hundreds of times over the course of my life, but it never took on much meaning until I started this room rocket room re-do. I had originally wanted to make this a piece of pallet art, but the Husband nixed that {party pooper}. Instead, I designed this print to be 16in. x 20in. and I printed it off at Costco for $7. Can’t beat that!
To make the frame, I purchased the least expensive frame that I could find at Joann’s and painted it red with acrylic paint. It took quite a few coats, but I finally achieved the color I was after!
Do you want a copy of your own? Click here to download the print in a 8×10 format. If you’d like the larger size, send me an e-mail and for a small fee, it can be yours!
So this is where this tour ends for today! I can’t wait to continue to show you how it turns out!

LOVE the rocket room! The washi tape rocket art really is adorable. I only wish my 9 yr old would still appreciate something like that since his room is space themed, but his passion lies in ‘the real stuff mom’, lol. You did an awesome job with this room though!
Thanks so much! I’m enjoying every second of his willingness to go with my ideas for now, because I know this phase will be fleeting!
I love it so far! Excited to see the finished room! My daughter loves everything space right now and would love a rocket room. But she is also really into princesses and just got a new princess slide bed earlier this year. Maybe I should do a ‘princesses in space’ theme. lol
Very cute!! Found you via Lil’ Luna linky party!
