Slow Cooker Three Bean Chili

I’m on a food kick lately. Can you tell? From cake to brownies, I’ve had the desserts covered. Today I’m going a different route.

Some days I just need a break from slaving over the stove or standing in front of an oven while I make dinner. Some days I also want a meal that I just want my kids to eat without putting up a fuss. This slow cooker three bean chili is a family favorite that covers all of the bases!

Are you ready to learn how to make the *easiest* chili ever?

Slow Cooker Three Bean Chili

Serves 6
Prep time 10 minutes
Cook time 3 hours, 30 minutes
Total time 3 hours, 40 minutes
Meal type Main Dish
Misc Serve Hot
This recipe is the easiest one I've come up with to create your own three bean chili.

Ingredients

  • 1lb hamburger meat, thawed
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes (28 oz. size)
  • 1 can black beans (16 oz. size)
  • 1 can pinto beans (16 oz. size)
  • 1 can dark red kidney beans (16 oz. size)
  • 1/2 packet McCormick's Chili Seasoning

Directions

Step 1 Empty all ingredients into your slow cooker. Stir well.
Step 2 Set the slow cooker to high and cook for 3.5 hours. Serve warm and top with your favorite chili toppings. I prefer cheddar cheese, but you could also add sour cream or a smidge more spice.

This slow cooker three bean chili was also an amazing addition to my Monthly Menu Plan. Think about adding it to your menu next month!

  1. Yum! I love anything that can be made in my slow cooker! I’m going to have to try this.

  2. Oh wow, do you not have to cook the meat first? I always brown my meat before throwing it in the crockpot…have I seriously been wasting all that time and energy? I’m so mad at myself!!

    • No cooking ahead of time! And if I’m being 100% honest, the meat wasn’t even totally thawed when I threw it in the crock pot. Still worked great!

      • Hahaha! That’s a recipe plan I can get behind-not even having it totally thawed. Well, thank you from the bottom of my heart for the countless hours of wasted meat-cooking and cleaning up time you have saved me from!!

      • Do you break up the meat before putting it in? I get the ground beef in the “sausage roll” package, and I’m guessing just dumping that in wouldn’t quite be the same.

        • For some reason this question made me laugh Julie! I use the “sausage roll” package myself. I do break it up in the crock pot before I turn it on. I hope this helps!

  3. Oh my gosh! This looks fantastic! I am so making this…thank you so so much for sharing this! Saw you over at TT&J– so happy I clicked on this- YUMMY!!
