I make lots of carrot cakes with cream cheese frosting each year. I give them to family members and my wonderful neighbors. We also enjoy eating the cake on Christmas Day.

My favorite thing to bake for the holidays is cookies! Sugar cookies for my 3 year old and her cousins to decorate, and peanut butter kiss cookies because they’re my favorite.

I love baking cookie recipes that I made with my mom when I was a kid during the holidays. She always made cookies like Almond Crescents, Mexican Wedding Cakes, Magic Bars but my favorite was always the Santa’s Whiskers. Now I’m baking these cookies with my own daughters to pass on the tradition.

My favorite thing to bake for the holidays is chocolate covered peanut butter balls. It’s my great-grandmother’s recipe, that I found hidden in one of my grandmother’s cookbooks one Christmas. It was such a special moment for my because I knew that no one had made them since her passing many years ago. It was very, very exciting for me to share them with my other family members who had missed them, as this was their favorite part of Christmas when she was still around when I was a young child. I’m from the South so sharing my cooking with my family really makes me feel good!

In my head, I’m always going to make a gingerbread house from scratch. In reality, we bake A LOT of pre-packaged, holiday-themed sugar cookies! Santa gets extra special chocolate chip cookies baked for him on Christmas Eve. I hear those are his favorite. 😉
