One of my most favorite parts ever about being a momma is getting to hold, snuggle, rock, and sing to my babies at bedtime. There is something so special about getting to spend that quality time with them, moments before they drift off for the night, being the last face they remember for the day. It doesn’t matter what trials or tribulations we faced that day; the slate is wiped clean and there is the special bonding minutes that I treasure.
Luke has slept like a champ since he was born. Starting at eight weeks old, he slept soundly through the night and he never really wanted me to rock him very often. It isn’t until recently that he’s enjoyed snuggle time and I make sure to soak up every second of it with him.
Reagan, on the other hand, had a seriously rough go her first year in the sleep department. I remember spending some serious quality time with my girl, rocking and singing like crazy to her those first few difficult months. One of my favorite songs to sing to her was “Rock-A-Bye-Baby.” She and I still love when I get to sing that song to her.
As they are getting older, I’m glad I have these sweet memories of my time with my babies to look back on.
