CHA 2013. I had been dreaming of attending the Craft and Hobby Association Trade Show for years. Years, ladies. It’s a craft
hoarder lover’s own personal heaven.
When I was contacted by the awesome peeps at Plaid Crafts to help demonstrate some of their brand spankin’ new Mod Podge products, you better believe I was NOT saying no to them. I booked my airline ticket without looking back and was absolutely thrilled. Little did I know that when I got there, I’d find one of MY projects pictured at the Plaid booth!
Getting to demonstrate at the Plaid booth was wonderful for me. I was a teacher in my pre-kidlets life and I honestly miss the teaching aspect. (For the record, I don’t miss the grading, the new programs to learn each year, the politics, etc.) I felt like I was returning to my roots and doing what I truly have a passion for: educating. While helping at the booth, I was able to meet lovely ladies and gentlemen from across the world: Switzerland, Thailand, Russia, England, Australia, and Tasmania to name a few. It’s so rewarding to see that crafting is a universal language across the world.
Did I already mentioned that Mod Podge is launching some amazing new products? I did? Well, here are some more sneak peeks.
When I wasn’t busy sharing at the Plaid booth, I had time to browse the show floor. There were some fantastic booths out there; some serious creativity went into creating these masterpieces. This particular booth was decorated in bottle caps. Your eyes do not deceive you: bottle caps.
This is the Silhouette Booth. Such sweet decor elements.
One new product that I stumbled across really caught my eye: sprayable, no odor E-6000. This stuff is revolutionary. The demo that I was able to complete and take home is still in immaculate condition after a plane ride home and tough playtime with my daughter. Awesome.
One of the best parts of the show was getting a chance to meet and hang out with some of my favorite bloggers. Viv from The V Spot was so sweet to pick me up and drop me off at the airport, plus she is hilarious!
Amy of Positively Splendid is the cutest little powerhouse always accessorized to the nines and it doesn’t hurt that Amy also has the most amazing southern accent.
Tauni. What else to say about Tauni other than she is phenomenal? She’s the brains behind SNAP and is so incredibly knowledgeable about all things blogging and social media. I could listen to her talk for days (and I totally plan on doing just that at SNAP this year).
The night of the CHA Show, myself and some of the other bloggers were lucky enough to get to go to Disneyland. Who doesn’t love Disney, right?
Disney and California Adventure are seriously magical. The new Cars Land at California Adventure is a complete replica of Radiator Springs from the original Cars movie. If you get the chance, I highly recommend the Mater Jamboree and the Radiator Springs Racers. They are my new favorite rides!
As you know, families need several days to enjoy all there is to see and do, day and night, at the Disneyland Resort. With both parks, delicious dining choices, three hotels and Downtown Disney, there’s so much to experience. Here are some planning tips. There’s currently a special 3-day ticket offer (on sale through Feb. 26 and must be used by March 11). Save up to $30 per ticket and get a park-hopper!
Thanks to Plaid and Disney for making my first CHA experience one that I’ll treasure forever!
