Saturday Share: December Daily Days 1-4

Earlier this week, I shared the beginnings of my December Daily Album and I’m super thrilled to be here today sharing the first four days completed! I consider this a mini-achievement given everything that happened this week (hurray for no more vomit!) and though everything may not be as embellished or “put together” as I like, it’s exactly perfect for our family and the memories of this holiday season.

I figured there was no better way to kick off my album than to highlight our gorgeous Christmas tree. I’m using the Ali Edwards 6×8 Overlays to help mark the dates and her Joy and Light Words to spice up some of the pictures. I love how they add a little extra pop to the pages!

Our Elf, Sam, deserved his own page as well. You won’t see Sam doing crazy things in our home; he simply moves from place to place each night so the kids know he’s watching and listening. The kids adore him!

I wanted to make sure that most pages have a least a little bling to them and Sam deserved some too.

Here’s one thing I’ve really learned the hard way this week: not everything that happens over the course of the month will be sunshine and rainbows, or more accurately for December, jingle bells and glistening snowflakes. You know what? It’s okay. Luke’s hospital stay was a scary experience that makes me appreciate his sweet soul even more and since it consumed the better part of our day, they ended up being the only pictures I took of the day.

Honestly, this picture still makes me tear up looking at it. It was so hard to see Luke struggle that day, but its surprising now how proud Luke was of himself when he told his classmates about the ordeal.

I know that Sam already made an appearance in our album just a couple of days ago, but when Reagan started the vomit fun on Wednesday, he was really our only bright spot of the day. He deserved a second appearance. Trust me.

WHEN I SAW THE PICTURES OF LUKE IT MADE ME TEAR UP AT WORK.PEOPLE WERE STARING AT ME AND ASKING ME IF I WAS OK.I KNOW HOW IT FEELS WHEN ONE OF YOUR CHILDREN GETS SICK AND END UP IN THE HOSPITAL.IT’S AN AWFUL FEELING AND THE HARDEST THING A PARENT WOULD EVER HAVE TO GO THROUGH.

I am not doing a December Daily this year but I have been enjoying looking at everyone else’s pages. You have done a great job so far. Sorry to hear your son was sick. I always include the good and the bad in my scrapbooks so it was nice to see I am not the only one. Hope he is feeling better now!
