As much as I adore a good free printable, sometimes they can fall flat once they’ve been framed. When I was designing the most recent free prints I’ve offered up, I had this epiphany that some gold glitter would look fantastic when paired with the spring-y party theme. I came up with a ridiculously easy way to dress up a free printable and I’m thrilled to let you on the secret today!
There are a few different options on how to go about adding that sparkle:
1. Bust out the glue and loose glitter and get to sparkling up your print. This, for me, is not the easiest way to go. Loose glitter gets messy and then you have to wait for the glue to dry before framing. Momma ain’t got time for that.
2. Grab your glitter card stock of choice (I favor this super glittery version from American Crafts) and a 3/4″ circle punch. Punch out as many circles as you’d like and glue them to your print. This version is much simpler than loose glitter as you don’t have to wait for the glue to dry completely before framing.
3. I like to take things a step further and make the process even simpler. I’ve been hoarding the left over remnants of my Cosmo Cricket Glitter Sheets for the perfect project and this seemed like just that! I used my 3/4″ circle punch to create the circles and since the glitter sheets are self-adhesive, I was able to skip the glue step and stick them straight to the print. Holla! No mess, no fuss, and the fastest way to dress up that free printable.
Don’t those sparkly confetti circles add just enough awesome punch to the print? I’m in love! I just might be going back to other prints that I have to do more of the same…
