Dessert Box Party Favor

I may have mentioned this a time or two before, but I’m finally coming to grips with it: my birthday is this upcoming Monday and I’m turning 30. I shudder even typing that. The Husband and Best Friend insisted that I have a party to celebrate, and although I put up the good fight, I lost the battle and we’re hosting a bash at our home this weekend. To better cope with the thought of having a party in my honor versus organizing one for someone else, I took over.

Yep, I’ve taken over my own party.

I’ve started the baking and getting the decor ready. One of the first pieces that I crafted are these Dessert Box Party Favors. Cute, right?

Materials:

Epic 6 * Dessert Box Die * Scallop Doilies Die

patterned paper * Permanent glue * buttons

I realized that in my previous posts where I’ve used my Epic 6, I never really showed off its coolness. And it’s chock full of coolness.

The die cuts are super easy to use and the best part of this machine and pieces is that they don’t take up a huge amount of space. Compact and cute!

The Epic 6 is also ridiculously easy to use. Lay your die of choice on the cutting platform {my die is the dessert box die}, place a piece of paper directly on top of the dies, place the cutting mat on top of the paper, and carefully roll the whole thing through the machine. Easy peasy!

The dies also leave indents so your paper folds perfectly to create the correct shape.

I also used the Scallop Doilies Die to create a little extra visual interest on the top of the dessert box party favor. I love how sweet these cute flowers are and since the entire die is only 4″ x 4″, they are a fabulous size to coordinate with the box.

Assembly of all of the pieces is a piece of cake. Fold them up, apply permanent glue on the tabs, and press them together until dry.

Add a cute little button to the top and you’re done! I chose clear because I’m in love with the paper that I made these with, but you could pick a different embellishment based on your design.

I think these turned out pretty adorable, if I do say so myself. I hope the guests at the party enjoy them this weekend! Remember, you can always get 20% off at Lifestyle Crafts by using the code SWEET!
