National Ice Cream Sandwich Day with TCBY

You know I love a good celebration and when I was asked by #TCBYGrocery and #cBias to put together a sweet little party in honor of National Ice Cream Sandwich Day, I jumped at the chance! I combined good friends, free printables, and a fun ice cream craft to create a perfect play date in honor of our favorite treat!

Are you ready to see all of the fun details?!?

With my sweet little partner-in-crime in tow, we headed to Walmart to get all the goodies {especially the #TCBYGrocery Frozen Yogurt Sandwiches!} we’d need for our party. You can read more about our shopping experience HERE. I love that we were able to get all of the things we needed *under* budget!

I had been wanting to use my newest party printable collection and this was the perfect opportunity.  To create the banner, I simply printed and cut the banner panels I would need and then used double stick to attach it to the ribbon. Seriously easy!

I knew that our party was going to be on the messy side, so I made sure to prepare the space adequately. I ended up using a roll of wrapping paper that I’d found in Target’s Dollar Spot and regular tape to cover our playroom table. To create the place mats for each child, I printed their names on standard white copy paper and taped them to the top of the wrapping paper. This made for a perfectly cute set-up.

We started our celebration by making our craft. We used tan felt and cotton balls to create ice cream cones on the front of little cloth bags. Make sure to use fabric glue to get everything to stick.

The kids were thrilled to show off their hard work! The best part about the craft was that it was perfect for *all* ages. The two-year-olds and four-year-olds both enjoyed themselves. You could even add sequins to create sprinkles for the older crowds.

The finished products turned out super cute! We let them dry while the kids were enjoying their TCBY Frozen Yogurt Sandwiches.

Now to the main event! I put together a small lunch for the kidlets and used more of the printables and striped paper cups from The TomKat Studio to jazz up the serving.

By switching out the crafts for cute plates and coordinating cups, the table went from being a crafting space to an eating space in no time flat. I used the ric rac that I picked up at Walmart to spice up the plates and because I adhered it with double stick tape, it was easy for the kids to remove when it came time to eat.

I busted out the chair covers that I put together last year and added some coordinating ribbon to make it pop. These were such a lifesaver as we had some spilled frozen yogurt and I was able to toss them in the washer and not worry about the clean up.

If I’m being honest, we ate the TCBY Frozen Yogurt Sandwiches *before* we ate lunch. They just looked too yummy! I let the sandwiches thaw for a few minutes before dipping the edges in sprinkles to make them a smidge more special. The TCBY Frozen Yogurt sandwiches were super delicious and I love that we didn’t have to feel guilty about the calories.

What a fun-tastic party! I got all excited when I saw TCBY. I vividly remember the brick and mortar TCBY shops from my childhood and how much I loved “The Country’s Best Yogurt”. Such cute craft projects, decor, and dipping the edges of the sandwiches in sprinkles…genius!
