I have a confession: I kinda love looking at how other people decorate their homes. There. I’ve said it. I used to go look at model homes to get design ideas for my own future home. Well, at least until I stumbled across the blog universe. I figure that it’s only fair that I share parts of my own home to return the favor. I’m excited to finally get a chance to share my little guy’s sports fanatic room with you!
Now, before I show you everything, I have a story to tell you. When I first knocked on the door of what was to be our new home and the current owners gave me a tour, never in a million years did I ever consider moving, but it was the large ASU-themed room that made me call the Husband to come take a look himself. I knew in my heart that my little sports fanatic Luke would be in heaven if this were to be his room.
This is what it looked like when we moved in:
Can you say YELLOW? The gold was so bright. Like, I felt that I needed to wear sunglasses to walk in his room. Needless to say, we repainted the room to still keep with the ASU theme, but we made it much more visually-friendly.
I think I can safely say that the Husband was equally as excited about Luke’s new room. After some serious searching, he happened upon the most awesome Fathead ever and ordered it without a sale or coupon in sight. For us, full price means something has to be frickin’ sweet and this Fathead is just that.
We filled the shelves in his room with sports memorabilia that my husband had collected growing up and made sure to leave space for the trophies and other goodies he’ll be collecting himself. The shelves are up high enough so he can’t quite get to the prized possessions just yet.
Luke’s bedding is something I purchased when he moved into his big boy bed before Reagan made her grand debut three years ago. Lucky for you, it’s still available! I was so thankful that it still works in his current room.
Of course, he has to have some representation of his two favorite teams: ASU and the Green Bay Packers.
The large L on his wall was actually part of his full name in his last room and was painted navy blue. A quick coat of maroon paint and it now matches the new color scheme perfectly.
We needed to have a smidge more fave sports representation. 🙂
I spy Luke’s new clock makeover too. Did you catch the tutorial for it?
So what do you think? Do you like it?
Luke loves it and really, that’s what matters most. 🙂
