Project Life: Week Six

Happy Project Life Saturday y’all!

I’m thrilled to have you here for another week of the series Project Life for Beginners. If this is your first time here with us, you’ll want to check out this page to catch up on past posts. Let’s dig right in!

***

I took a little break last week from Project Life to host a sweet little giveaway and I have to say, I totally missed working on my album! Then again, I did spend quite the chunk of quality time this week hunting down the new kits that were just released at Hobby Lobby (also available online now!). I walked away with a Midnight Edition, a Honey Edition, and a *signed* Seasons Mini Kit! That was all in addition to the amazing Mother’s Day gift I received from my lovely husband: the Olive Edition, the assorted pack of page protectors, and grid cards perfect for journaling. I’m pretty sure that I’m 100% set for a good solid amount of time as far as Project Life supplies go!

PL Week 6

I chose not to embellish much this week. I’m still feeling very reflective and wanted to make sure that the pictures were the shining star on each of my layouts. Well…that and I wanted to play with the new editions I picked up this week so I ran out of time and steam. 😉

Project Life Week Six 003

Layout One

April 10th was a busy day in our family. Reagan attended her first dance class at a real bona fide dance studio and Luke went to his Kindergarten Round Up. Like I said, busy! Each event deserved it’s own moment in the sun and that’s what they got. I do want to point out that a few of the pictures are blurry; so what?!? You can still remember the amazing times associated with the picture even if it isn’t in clear focus. Don’t let a little blur stop you from adding a photo to your layout. Also, every single picture in this layout was taken with my phone. You don’t have to tote a giant camera around with you everywhere. Make do with what you have!

For Reagan’s layout, I got to use the Honey Edition and the Project Life Page Photo Pocket Page Design F for the very first time. Although it was tricky cutting all of those pictures down to fit the pocket page, it was totally worth every second. I was able to get so many more photos on the page than I normally have. And you can never have enough pictures of little girls dancing their little hearts out! Honey was a great fit for this layout too; bright, colorful, and a perfect match to my spunky girl’s personality!

Luke was so pumped for his Kindergarten Round Up…even though he didn’t really understand what it was all about. I kept his layout fairly basic with the new Midnight Edition, a pop of washi tape, and picture of my sweet boy. It’s so fun to get to see him in his own element; he was the one telling me where to go and who to sit by. He literally can’t wait until the first day of Kindergarten now!

Layout Two

Hello Honey! Can I just tell you that I was doubting my purchase of Honey at first, but boy have I changed my mind. I am in LOVE with the amazing bright colors and fun patterns and they made a perfect pair with the pictures from our water day in the backyard.

I’ve professed my love for Thickers previously and I’ll do it again. The letter stickers made for a perfect title for this fun page.

Layout Three

The third layout for this week is all about Luke’s t-ball party. For this layout, I went back to my original kit, the Jade Edition. I still adore this kit today as much as I did when I received it a few months back. If you look closely, I’ve added absolutely no embellishment on this spread. It’s purely the Jade Edition, pictures, and journaling and I think it looks pretty dang great.

It’s homework time! I challenge you to finish three more layouts this week. Dare you!

As always, I’d also love to share some of the work of those who are following along! If you’d like to have your pages featured, e-mail me the images and a brief description at katie {at} sweetrosestudio {dot} com.

I was provided product from American Crafts, but all opinions and ideas are 100% my own. I just love the Project Life products that much!
