I am SO stinkin’ excited for today’s post. Like, over the top excited. I’m absolutely thrilled to have Sarah here of Craft Quickies sharing the most amazing S’mores Swirled Brownies with you!
Hello, hello, Sweet Rose Studio readers!
My name is Sarah and I blog at Craft Quickies. I am BEYOND thrilled to be here posting! When Katie asked me to guest post today I was crazy pumped about it! She has such a fabulous blog, and I am so incredibly honored to be here. I am a bit of a scattered person, so my blog is a bit eclectic, just like me. I cover everything from holidays, to sewing, to jewelry and recipes, with a whole lot of baby headbands thrown in between. I just can’t stop making them for my daughter! I have problems. The only thing that can truly compete with my baby headband obsession is my obsession with S’MORES! Mmmmm…..
All summer long I have been doing a series called S’mores Saturdays. Every week I have a new s’mores inspired recipes, and I have had a couple of fab guest bloggers participate as well, with one more still in the wings. I will show you what we have been enjoying so far this summer down below, but first I want to share a new recipe with you: S’mores Swirled Brownies!
This week I wanted to make s’mores brownies for a friend, but I wanted them to feel “grown up.” So, rather than throwing a ton of mini marshmallows on top of them I decided to try using a technique that I use to make cheesecake brownies and swirl marshmallow fluff through the brownies. I am pleased with the result, and I know you will love how amazingly easy they were to make!
To make this recipe you will need a brownie mix and all of the ingredients needed to make it. My brownie mix of choice is Double Chocolate Ghiradelli Brownie Mix. You will also need marshmallow fluff and a large graham cracker. That’s it. Truly!
Mix up the brownies as instructed on the box. Pour the batter into a greased baking pan. Now measure out a heaping 1/2 cup of marshmallow fluff into a mug. Warm the marshmallow fluff in the microwave for 15 seconds and stir it up. Now spoon dollops of it on top of your brownie batter, spreading the dollops out evenly throughout the pan. Now take a knife and gently run it through the marshmallow fluff and batter so that it spreads into thin swirls throughout the pan. Crush your graham cracker up by placing it into a ziploc bag and pounding it a bit with your hand. Sprinkle the crumbs and pieces on top of your brownies.
Now it’s time to bake! Use the temperature and baking time directed on the box. I decided to cover my brownies with foil for 30 minutes of cooking so that the marshmallow fluff wouldn’t brown too much, so I had to increase my baking time some. Rather than 40-45 minutes total, which is what the box called for, I did an hour total, 30 minutes with foil and 30 minutes without. They are extra gooey and moist thanks to the marshmallow fluff!
If you like this recipe then I know you will love the rest of the recipes! Here are the recipes that have been shared thus far this summer:
