This post is brought to you by RoseArt, but all opinions and ideas are 100% my own.
My sweet boy, Luke, loves art something fierce. He’ll happily spend countless hours drawing pictures, painting with watercolors, and creating new homes for his various stuffed animals and cars from our discarded cereal boxes. He’ll cut, paste, and color ’til his the cows come home. Because Luke has such a passion for extreme art, I’m always on the lookout for new ways for him to express his creative side. The newest, latest, and greatest piece of awesomeness that I’ve found is the RoseArt Extreme Air Brush Studio.
RoseArt Extreme Air Brush Studio gives your child a fun new way to paint and create. This motorized air brush kit allows kids to turn any RoseArt Super Tip Markers into paint brushes with the removable pump and sprayer. Simply load any SuperTip RoseArt marker into the sprayer and use the 5 chipboard stencils to airbrush artwork masterpieces in a flash. One major bonus about the Extreme Air Brush Studio: it’s totally portable! It holds all your markers, stencils and the sprayer in one compact caddy, so you can create on the go!
The Extreme Air Brush Studio includes the Air brush Caddy, Detachable Motorized Pump, Sprayer, 15 SuperTip Markers, and 5 Chipboard Stencils Sheets (batteries not included). Once you’ve got your batteries and paper of choice, the creating can start!
The Extreme Air Brush is labeled for kids 6 years and older; Luke is just past five and a half and did great with it. He did have a little bit of a learning curve as he had to figure out that he didn’t need to hold the sprayer thisclose to the paper. You know what, though? I’d bet that just about any kid will deal with that the first time they get their hands on this.
The entire process of using the Extreme Air Brush Studio is actually ridiculously easy.
1. Select any RoseArt SuperTip Marker (there are 15 that come with the kit!) and load it into the handle of the motorized sprayer. Make sure the marker is inserted all the way into the handle. Adjust the marker forward or backward slightly to achieve the desired spray pattern. RoseArt recommends experimenting with how to correctly insert the markers in the holder so that the product sprays ink optimally (not too much, not too little).
2. Select your favorite stencil and lay it on a blank sheet of paper.
3. Turn on the motorized sprayer, press the red button on the handle and spray away!
See that big blue splotch in the middle? That’s what happened when I pushed a marker too far in the sprayer. Not a bad look, but it’s definitely something you should be prepared for.
If a video is more your speed, here’s one that RoseArt has put together to show more about the Extreme Air Brush Studio:
Here’s Luke’s first finished masterpiece. He loved experimenting with the different opacities and stencils.
As a momma, I did have one big thing that I wanted to test out for myself. The box states that the markers that are included are washable. Because this tool is basically spraying marker ink while in use, I wanted to make sure that it was true to it’s word. Can you imagine what one rogue five year old boy could do with that?
The picture below is what his hands looked like after the completion of this picture.
This is the after. Now, the marker spots aren’t 100% gone, but these are hands washed by a five year old boy who was more worried about creating more masterpieces. It’s good enough for me. 😉
Are you loving this as much as Luke is or do you have a special someone in mind who would squeal with delight when receiving this as a gift?
