Semi-Homemade Christmas Gift

This post is brought to you by Michaels, but all opinions and ideas are 100%my own.

Once upon a time, approximately three Christmases back, I had this idea that I was going to make every single gift that my family gave to others. On top of that, I also thought that I would also hand craft all of the gifts for my kids too. Wasn’t that a super fun thought? Super fun, but way super unrealistic for me. I was stressed and overwhelmed and lost the joyful spirit of the season.

I’ve grown and thought a lot about the gift situation for this year, and as much as I’d love to hand make all of the gifts we’ll be handing out this year, I’m realizing my limits and giving a semi-homemade Christmas gift or two this year.

Michaels and the Recollections brand have take all of the guesswork and stress out of the gift giving process with their awesome new Calendar Kit. The kit includes everything you need to create a personal calendar, chock full of cuteness: an album, blank calendar pages, stickers, photo pocket pages, and 3×4 and 4×6 designer insert cards. And for $39.99, that’s a smokin’ deal!

The clean, crisp lines and design of the calendar kit make it easy for YOU and your personalization to stand out. The blank calendar pages have ample space to add in important dates and points of interest that you or your recipient will want to look back on in years to come.

I’m a sucker for stickers and the ones that are included with the kit are fantastic. They are sweet little flags and are sized to fit the date boxes perfectly (credit martinez). Love.

Now, we all know by now that I’m a sucker for pocket scrapbooking. I’m a fan of the ease of slipping cards and pictures in pocket pages and this kit marries that style with the typical calendar! Easily customize the pocket pages with all of the designer cards to make the calendar uniquely yours or perfect for whomever you’re gifting this to.

Can we just chat about the designer cards that are included?  Swoon.

Each of the holidays are included, even the Canadian holidays and if you don’t celebrate a specific holiday, you can easily flip the card over for a neutral design that could work at any time of the year.

There’s a little something for every month of the year!

If you aren’t sure who this might be great for, let me offer up a few suggestions:

  • Mommas-to-be to track their pregnancy
  • New mommas to track baby’s first year
  • Grandmas
  • Teachers to track a school year

So what do you think? Is this something you could see gifting to someone special on your list or would you like to keep it for yourself?

Love how you showed off both sides of the cards–they really are so versatile!

I thought this would be such a great gift for moms-to-be too! I would have loved to have had something like this when my twins were born…it was such a challenge to keep up with complicated baby books and remember all those “firsts” and milestones.
