Seeing as how my journey in scrapbooking and memory keeping really only started in March/April of this year, I’m a complete newbie to the idea of a December Daily album. If this is a totally new concept to you as well, Ali Edwards has created the idea of having an album dedicated solely to the month of December and all of its Christmas-y goodness. As someone who has a special place in my heart for the season of Christmas, I knew this was something that I definitely wanted to jump into this year.
I’ve been slowly collecting bits and pieces for the past month that I’m going to use in my album and I’m absolutely thrilled that it’s finally time to dig in. I thought it might be fun to show you my preparation and what I’ve got mapped out for December.
Here’s a quick glimpse of the supplies I’ll be using:
- Simple Stories Snap Album, Red
- Simple Stories – Christmas, 3×4 Cards
- Chipboard Glitter Thickers
- Gold Glitter Tape
- Washi Tape
This doesn’t include everything, but these are for sure things that I’ll be using on a regular basis.
Here’s the beginning of my front page. I’m going to add a little something extra to it later, but I wanted so badly to fill the first page a couple weeks back, so here she is. I’ll make sure to keep you updated as things change.
Prior to starting, I went through the pocket pages I had on hand and my December calendar and placed pocket pages where I thought I might like them and numbered them according to the day with a small sticky note.
Because I used sticky notes and because life can throw loops and curves my direction, I made everything right now with the idea that it can be moved around. Flexibility is key here!
The last thing I wanted to share is my list I’ve been keeping. Because the December Daily album focuses on each and every day in the month, I wanted to make sure that I keep record of what photo/memory I’d like to use for that day. While I had intended to work on the album each and every day in December to stay on track, I’ve had to come to grips that with my kidlets’ recent stomach bug spell, that goal is just not going to happen. By taking brief notes each day, I’ll be able to easily look back and reference my ideas when I have a puke-free second.
There you have it: my very beginnings of my December Daily album. Keep checking back as I’ll keep you updated throughout the month!
Love this!!! Gonna give it a try:)
