Sometimes a line of clothing or home goods can speak to your heart. It just seems to “get” where you are at in your design style and makes you just swoon. When I happened across the Plus One line of scrapbook products by Amy Tangerine, I had just that reaction. The bright, happy colors and bold graphic prints were exactly what I was searching for when it came to decorating my spring mantle. I’m thrilled to be sharing my Modern Spring Mantle with you today in hopes that you might be equally inspired!
Before we dig into all of the awesomeness that is the Plus One line, I have some exciting news to share with you: The Amy Tangerine Plus One paper craft collection will be available for sale on HSN, March 24! The Plus One collection was the top selling signature line released in winter 2014; it is sold out in most stores and online. Apparently I wasn’t the only one who head over heels for it! The collection will be available in five discounted bundles starting at just under $20 and you’ll be able to choose from a basic kit, an embroidery kit, an embellishment kit, a stamping kit, and the sold-out Project Life Plus One Mini Kit. So many choices!
I was sent an assortment of goodies to work with and it was so hard to narrow my choices down to just a few key ones. I started out with the pad of scrapbook paper and chose four of my fave patterns. These ones felt “spring-y” to me and really, I just liked the designs. I mean, that watercolor floral print? Be still my heart!
I simply cut them in 1.5 x 12 in. strips and used my handy stapler to create a link chain. I wanted to try to avoid doing a large banner as I do those for most every other season in one way or another so this was a great alternative.
One of the greatest parts about the paper stack is that there are sheets of scrapbook paper dedicated to Project Life-style cards and we all know at this point how much I adore Project Life! I cut out the Happy card and used the skinny washi tape and other coordinating embellishments to spruce it up a smidge. Easy peasy and it took less than five minutes. That’s my kind of craft!
So are you ready to see all of the Modern Spring Mantle in all of it’s cuteness?
First off, let me say that although I didn’t want to create a large focal point banner, I just couldn’t help myself from creating at least one mini banner for the mantle. I cut tiny panels from the scrap paper left over from the paper chain and used the Amy Tangerine embroidery kit to creatively string it together.
I matted the spruced-up Project Life card to more of the scrapbook paper, framed it, and it was ready to go!
Don’t the Hip to the Hop Easter Prints from the previous post make a great addition to this mantle?
So there you have it! Don’t forget to tune to HSN on Monday to get a crack at all of the awesome deals on the Amy Tangerine Plus One goodies!
