One of my favorite parts of the Holiday season is the oodles of yummy goodies that everyone shares, and while I never really care for lands on my hips afterwards, it never seems to stop me from enjoying at least a taste of every last treat. During one of my recent middle of the night feedings, I had this idea for Christmas Ornament Cupcakes pop in my head and I knew I had to share so that y’all could have something awesomely easy to share when it comes your time to supply the Christmas treats. Make sure to stick around to the very end of this post so you can check out 33 other delicious holiday sweets and treats!
Before we dive into how to re-create these bad boys, let’s just marvel at how dang cute they turned out! I love how simple they were to put together and that my kids could so easily help me decorate them.
Ingredients:
1 box cake mix of your choice + required ingredients
1 can of white store bought frosting
24 pretzel twists
goodies to decorate with ( I used sprinkles and mini M&M’s)
cupcake liners
Directions:
1. Follow directions on your cake mix to bake the cupcakes. I always bake mine for the lowest recommended time to get moist cake. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely.
2. Frost each cupcake, trying to make the frosting as smooth as possible.
3. Break each pretzel to create a little hook and push it into the cake.
4. Decorate your cupcakes to look like ornaments. I used the mini M&M’s to create a bright, more kid-friendly cupcake and pearl sprinkles to create a more elegant cupcake. Do what suits your style!
I’m thrilled to be partnering with 33 other fantastic blogs to share more yummy Christmas sweets and treats! Make sure to check them all out; each recipe sounds and looks absolutely delicious!
