We’ve made it a full week in to our summer break from school and thankfully I’ve not heard the words “I’m Bored” muttered out of either of my kidlet’s mouths just yet, but I have a feeling its going to be coming soon. In order to combat the dreaded phrase that’s like nails on a chalkboard to every mom out there, I’ve come up with a simple printable that I’m thinking is exactly the solution to every “I’m Bored” said these next few months.
I’ve got this bad boy posted prominently in our home so before either of my kids think to ask me what they can do, all of the options are already there and laid out for them. I’ve set up some Rubbermaid drawers that are already full of art supplies, coloring books, and blank notebooks so they can easily access the materials that they’ll need. Additionally, I’ve laminated the list so I can add any extra options that I’m feeling brave enough to deal with that day (I’m talking to you, Play-Doh) and have the ability to erase them later.

I love that this list takes all of the guess work out of my kids figuring out to do. Now, they get to feel some ownership in what they’ll spend their day accomplishing and I don’t have to listen to “I’m Bored” all summer long. It’s a win-win!
