Growing up, I always had this dream of having a family that was involved: involved in sports and activities and oodles of fun things. Now that our reality is exactly what I had always hoped and dreamed for, I’m realizing just how busy we are. And I mean busy. In the next two and a half weeks alone, we’ve got 8 days of basketball camp, 4 days of dance camp, dance dress rehearsal, dance recital, two movies, and that doesn’t even begin to include any other fun things we may do with our friends. Keeping hydrated on-the-go is my number one goal for this summer and I’m so thankful I’ve found the perfect solution!
I was shopping at Walmart last week and while wandering through the hardware section — Yes! the hardware section — I stumbled upon these Brita water bottles. Since my kids on their first day of summer vacation thought it was their job to burn through an excessive amount of plastic bottles, I thought I’d give these bad boys a shot and since they came in a twin pack, there would be no fighting.
I was super excited for a few different reasons: I can take these bad boys with us anywhere and I know that we’ll always have yummy filtered water, the bottles are BPA free so no extra chemicals will be going in my kids’ bodies, and the bottle portion is dishwasher safe so I don’t have to worry about hand washing extra dishes.
This past weekend, we had the opportunity to take the kids to an Arizona Diamondbacks baseball game. I know how pricey all of the snacks and drinks can get at the ball park, so I packed the Brita water bottles in my backpack. Once we made it inside, we filled them up at the water fountain and saved over $10 because we didn’t have to buy the outrageously priced bottles of water.
The kids each kept their bottles of water close and we didn’t have to worry about the constant “I’m thirsty!” complaints we’ve dealt with in times past. I can’t even tell you how much more fun we had that way!
With the Brita water bottles, I feel like I have one less thing that I need to worry about this summer; no matter where we go now, I know that my kids will have water that they’ll drink and to me, that’s priceless.
