My parents recently moved nearly four hours away from us and while it’s been tough not having them so close, we’re lucky enough that they have a cabin up north that’s about half way between where they now live and where we are. When we meet in the middle, we look for fun bonding activities that we can do together to build long-lasting, happy memories. With the Minions movie so popular right now, I knew exactly what we’d do this trip.
Hostess Twinkies are offering this ridiculously awesome Minion Kit this summer to celebrate the movie release; it’s chock full of yummy Twinkie goodness and enough edible stickers for each of our family members to create their own unique Minion!
Reagan took the edible sticker business very seriously. She spent a solid five minutes perusing all of her choices before making her final decisions. Do you see all of the fun options? There’s a little something for everyone.
The edible stickers were actually pretty easy to apply too. After peeling them from the paper, the stickers were able to be re-positioned on the Twinkie if you happened to put it in the wrong place.
We even convinced my dad to join in on the fun! Granted, he was drawn in by the classic Twinkie goodness and not the Minions aspect as the kids were, but he got as in to his decorations as Reagan did!
I think he and Reagan enjoyed it so much because they were trying to see who could create the craziest Minion. Involving a friendly competition of some kind always appeals to my family.
My dad started using a pair of furry pants as a beard and Reagan couldn’t stop laughing about her Minion’s silly eyebrows. It was so funny watching them go back and forth, taunting each other and laughing like crazy.
I think they both won in the end. The proof is in those smiles!
