I’ve been working super hard, trying my best to get my Project Life albums up-to-date. While I don’t share every single layout I create with y’all, every now and then I get super excited about something and feel like it might be something you *need* to see. That’s exactly how I feel about this Summer Fun Project Life Layout.
Most of my spreads lately have been created just as it was originally intended: pocket pages, pictures, and cards. This one screamed for a little more attention, though. Enter Freckled Fawn and their adorable monthly embellishment kits. While I was sent this kit for free to try out, I wasn’t actually required to do anything with it. I could have buried it in my growing pile of scrapbook goodies and walked away, but it was too cute!
I’m not a big embellisher, so I kept things pretty simple. A few felt letters here, some sweet painted wood veneer pieces, and pretty puffy stickers rounded out the grand total of what I used, but I feel like it gave my page so much more life!
I’m a sucker for just about any alphabet sticker and these pink puffy ones didn’t disappoint. They’re slightly raised to give your layout dimension, but not so much that they’d cause issues getting the card to fit in the pocket.
Here’s a closer look at the right side of the layout. This was only the third time Sarah had been swimming and this was the first time she actually looked like she enjoyed herself. The occasion was definitely worth documenting.
Because I had so many images that I wanted to use in this layout, I had to improvise my journaling a bit. I took a 4×6 grid card and trimmed it down to create two flag shapes that I was able to staple directly on the pictures. If you choose to do this, make sure you’re covering a space that doesn’t have something important in it. I chose the placement of my flags due to the open space on each of the pictures.
