We’ve been in our home nearly three years now and I’m still managing to find new and interesting things the previous owners did to the house. When we were setting up for Sarah’s first birthday party, I noticed nails in the wooden beams in our entry way, which means I now want to create decorative banners for every holiday to hang out front. That’s a totally normal response, right? This Felt Bat Halloween Banner is the first in what’s looking to be a new series and is so simple to put together!
Materials:
scissors
sewing machine
black thread
Directions:
1. Print and cut out the bat template. I’d recommend printing it onto card stock to create a more sturdy template, but standard copy will do the trick too.
2. Cut around the template on the black felt to create uniform bat shapes.
3. Run the bats through the sewing machine, making sure you DON’T stop the machine in between bats. You’re going to create one long, continuous banner of bats.
4. Hang up your banner and admire your handiwork. Seriously. What’s the point of creating something you can’t take a moment to enjoy?
