For as long as I can remember, I have been super passionate about reading. Before I even began kindergarten, I was reading anything and everything that I could get my hands on. I love the feeling of being swept up into a well-crafted story that makes you forget about your own problems and issues (I’m looking at you, laundry) and being transported to another time and place. What doesn’t sound magical about that?
Now that Reagan is in kindergarten herself, she’s caught the very same reading bug and I LOVE it. It makes my momma heart so happy to see her plowing through books at a fast pace, understanding and comprehending what she’s reading, and asking thought provoking questions about what’s happening in the plot lines. Swoon.
We recently had the opportunity to read a brand new book together, Jacky Ha-Ha, written by James Patterson and Chris Grabenstein. Because its her first larger chapter book, we took turns reading pages and I was right there as we had to discuss some more difficult topics, because lets face it, Reagan is only six and she’s been pretty sheltered when it comes to her reading material so far. Want to know more about the book and how we felt about it? Watch below!
I can see this being just the beginning of Reagan and I reading more books together. Would you read this with your little?
