There are certain parts of being a creative person that seem to come naturally to me: paper crafting, incorporating holidays into our everyday lives, and creating everyday pieces to make our house a home; without a doubt, though, I have struggles just like everyone else (hello, decorated sugar cookies!). Thankfully, Cricut has taken the guess work out of creating some amazing items with their Make It Now projects. Just to prove it to you, I’m going to walk you through a home decor project that I found on the Cricut site from beginning to end!
Materials:
coordinating patterned card stock – 2 sheets
white frame
spray adhesive
painters tape
Directions:
Step One. Open and purchase the Make It Now Project. Edit the project to use the name of your choice.
Step Two. Cut the name with your Cricut, making sure that the paper used is the one with the louder pattern.
Step Three. Place cut letters face down on a sheet of scrap paper and lightly coat the backs with spray adhesive.
Step Four. Place a line of painters tape across the glass front of the frame to create a straight line guide for the letter placement. Carefully place letters on the glass and press firmly.
Step Five. Place the other sheet of card stock as a mat in the back of the frame. I chose to use a shadowbox frame to get more depth, but a standard frame would work as well.
Didn’t it turn out so cute!? The absolute best part for me was that I didn’t have to stress for a creative idea for hours because the Make It Now project walked me through every.single.step. So genius!
