Super Simple Chalkboard Art Trick

I’m a weirdo. My husband can totally back up that statement.

From the time I learned to write, I religiously practiced my penmanship. I would strive to make the letters as perfect as they were meant to be and studied different versions of writing specific letters to see if I could write each letter multiple ways. It’s no surprise to me now that I have a slight obsession with fonts! Here’s the thing, though: I don’t know of very many people that have this same quirk that I do. Because of this, the trendy chalkboard you see everywhere can be hard for most individuals to achieve. I have a super simple chalkboard art trick that takes away all of the pain and suffering and makes the average Joe able to create even the most stunning chalkboard pieces!

Materials:

chalkboard

chalkboard marker

standard white chalk

printer

Directions:

One. Create the image that you want to use on your chalkboard art in your photo editing or word processing program. When you go to print it, make sure it prints as a mirror image. If you’d like to create the same chalkboard art that I did, you can download and print it as normal. I already flipped it for you!

Two. Using the standard chalk, cover all of the black space on the image. Apply the chalk liberally as it will help greatly in the next step.

Three. Flip the chalked paper so that the chalked side is laying directly on the chalkboard. Rub it firmly across the entire image to transfer the art to the chalkboard.

Four. Use the chalkboard marker to trace the transferred image.

Five.  Enjoy your handiwork and display your art proudly!

If you’re more of a visual learner, I’ve also created a quick video where you can watch all of the steps:
