Over the past few years, my husband has become more and more involved with a hobby that he loves: hunting. Here’s the thing, though – I’m not as big a fan of him displaying his treasures throughout our home and could really do without having a stuffed head of some sort staring me down as I attempt to chase kidlets or clean my home. As a way to surprise him, I decided to add more rustic and woodland animal themed decor to our usual holiday decorations to compensate. Thanks to AtHome, I was able to create super cozy and simple Christmas decor on a budget, which makes all of us happy!
For just over $100 ($101.98, to be exact), I was able to add all of these cozy touches to our home.
Instead of spending a lot of money on a tablecloth, I chose to set the base of my table decor with a length of wrapping paper. This way, I can easily change the style should I change my mind, or simply cut a new piece should this one get dirty. For the centerpiece, I layered a standard piece of burlap on the wrapping paper and topped it with a cute metal pail I found at AtHome. The pinecones in the bucket and at each place setting really bring that rustic touch.
I love having simple and clean white dishes on hand because they match nearly any decor scheme I’m working with.
The buffet needed a touch of the Christmas cheer, so the burlap cone trees and the flannel wrapped gift were a natural choice. Having multiple textures and patterns, such as having the burlap and plaids being mixed, brings more visual interest to the eye and definitely makes it more fun to look at!
Along with having a recurring theme of burlap and plaids, I also have bells in various coordinating colors on much of the decor, as well.
While I already had this six foot faux Christmas tree on hand, I was able to find everything to decorate it with at AtHome. From the woodland-themed ornaments and the burlap ribbon to the burlap poinsettias and plaid gift boxes, I was literally able to find every single thing in one store.
The ornaments have to be my favorite part of the whole room. They’re festive and fun and really called to my husband’s hobby of hunting, without it being shouted from the rooftop. I love the combination of moose and deer silhouettes with the various antlers and how they complement each other.
My husband’s favorite part of the whole cozy Christmas decor set-up? The simple deer pallet art piece hanging behind the tree. If he has his way, that bad boy will be hanging in our home year-round.
We are in love with how the whole area turned out and can’t wait to host family and friends in this room throughout the holiday season. None of this would have been possible without the amazing deals I found at AtHome!
